Things to Know

Donors are encouraged to review Blood Donor Qualifications. Donor Eligibility

Donors should arrive well-nourished and hydrated.
Donors need photo identification with first and last name.
The donation process takes approximately one hour (add an additional 20 minutes for a double red cell donation).
Power Red Cell Donation – Power up your donation with an automated power red cell donation.
Fast Track – Donors can complete the health questionnaire online prior to arriving to the drive. The questionnaire must be completed the same day as the donation and barcode needs to be presented at the drive. This can also be completed at the drive. Fast Track Link

As one of our coordinators, you have the awesome ability to lead and inspire people in your network to support those in need. Right now, we need that help more than ever! Blood donations are decreasing, patient usage is increasing.

The COVID-19 pandemic is over however, the impact continues with 20% fewer donors donating. This loss is exacerbated during the summer season. We continue to be in “rebuild and reset” times.
Overall, the blood donor base has decreased, especially in specific regions. o Younger Donors: High school and college blood drive collections have been slow to return to pre-pandemic levels. A key time for educating our future donors was lost and is being re-established. Older Donors: Many older, dedicated donors stopped donating during the pandemic due to retirement, relocation, business changes, including closures, and more.
Patient usage is up for various reasons, including elective surgeries, and patients with extraordinary usage, in some cases up to hundreds of blood components to survive trauma, transplants, and massive bleeding.
It is the blood on the shelf that saves lives. With only 3% of eligible people donating, it’s more important than ever to reach donors with the message of critical needs for patients.
